Some systems move the drag link bar to a higher spot, but we raise the drag link, the tie rod, AND the track bar for a true knuckle over high steer system. Angles are so dramatically reduced that it ELIMINATES bumpsteer. Moving everything to the top helps protect your entire steering system from trail damage. It is not only an investment to beef up your steering, or to increase clearance and capability, but also a substantial upgrade in safety and handling.
Minimum recommended lift height is 4". This system is perfect for any suspension at or over 4" tall.
Let's talk about "bolton". Some claim it, but they lie... like a stinky cow-pie.
The Rocky Road OTT system is true bolt-on. No welding required. Many kits actually require welding, even though they say bolt-on. Also, no need to change your steering knuckles with the Rocky Road kit. Changing the steering knuckle (as with Tera) requires high dollar tools and/or professional installation, often requires additional welding or specialized tools which the average guy at home will not have available, and is anything but a simple bolton operation. The Rocky Road OTT steering system can be installed by anyone... ANYONE!
All bolton... not partially bolton like other kits that claim they are full bolton. This is THE TRUE bolton kit on this planet for a full high steer system on your Jeep. Why are we making such a big deal about this detail? Because it makes a difference when you are sitting at home on a weekend with your new steering kit all excited to 'bolt it on', and the kit you purchased from elsewhere isn't what it was advertised to be. Yes, it does make a difference...
The swaybar axle links may need to be trimmed for installation.
Also, picture shows pre-cut holes for ABS lines, these no longer exist. If you have ABS, you will need to drill your own holes for the line to pass thru.
The strength and performance of this system blows all other kits out of the water. The arms are carved from solid machine stock steel with horizontal grain. This makes them incredibly strong! We also include high grade bolts mounting to eliminate sheer possibility. Our new steering system incorporates caliper mounting so that the arm is held solidly on two planes and is incredibly strong. Each knuckle hosts a 5 point mounting system for super strength and safety. All tubing is .25" DOM. Kit comes powdercoated black for an excellent look and durable finish.
This shot shows our unique and superior swaybar link mounting. No more bungee cords to hold your swaybar when disconnected, no more rattly links flopping around. Our setup fastens the links and the swaybar up high and secure.

Positioning of the steering linkage requires a totally new swaybar mounting and disconnect system. This was one of the trickier parts of the engineering in this steering system. The bad news will be that whatever swaybar disconnect system you have now, won't work. For those who chose not to run a front swaybar at all, no problem. You just order our regular OTT steering system. For those that do want a front swaybar, you will need to order our disconnect kit. As you can see from the photos above, it is different from any existing setup and so our optional kit would be required. Some people use their Jeeps primarily for the trail though and choose not to run a swaybar system which is why this is an optional kit. We do recommend running with your swaybar however and do recommend this swaybar disconnect kit.
Perhaps best of all, this is kit 50-state legal. We use tapered ball joints at each mounting point. Other kits sometimes use standard rod ends. These are illegal to use in a steering system on public roads AND allow play in the system so the steering feel loose. Our kits uses fitted tie rod ends for a precision feel and handling. We also use LH and RH threads on our tie rod so that alignment can easily be performed. All tie rod ends are standard off-the-shelf parts for easy replacement if they ever wear out. No custom pieces to track down. We can just give you the universal part number for easy replacement.

The OTT steering system is the only kit to offer full legality on public roads. Drop pitman arms are NOT necessary for this kit with stock or lifted springs. Our engineering takes care of all this.
Want to run a steering shock/stablizer? No problemo. Our kit will provides an optional offroad grade steering shock. Bolts right into place and uses a simple factory mounting system.

The above chart is 100% accurate. You might wonder what the heck those other systems include at their higher price with so many red strikes against them. Well... it has us wondering too.
