Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 Lift Kit Description

FIRST... Note: This is THE ONLY WK2 LIFT KIT MADE IN THE USA.
ALL OTHER (non spring replacement) lift kits on the market are made in China, even from US Companies. Keep that in mind as you shop around. Buy China, or buy USA. Its an important decision these days. Rocky Road kits are all USA made, and we are PROUD OF THAT!!!

The bottom line is that many Jeep owners do want to spice up their Jeep a bit, but suspensions that change the way a vehicle drives and handles are NOT what most people are looking for. We want a sensible suspension that gets us onto some bigger tires for a MUCH better look and some extra clearance for the occasional weekend trail ride.... Something that separates you from the pack.

If this describes you, then Rocky Road has the answer. Our 2011+ Grand Cherokee lifts are all bolton. No cutting, welding, drilling is required. And since our lift height is no taller than the airbag suspension at full height, no compromise in the factory warranty on the Jeep either.

The kit retains the stock suspension springs, and the stock high performance shocks. After installation of a Rocky Road lift, you will still have the same safe and sane handling on your daily driver... just taller and better.

Rocky Road kits use heavy duty steel spacer components that mount with your stock rear springs. Also included are shock mount relocation kits so that full suspension travel is maintained and vehicle load leveling systems are not altered or upset. Our system retains your factory springs and shocks so your ride quality and load capacity are not diminished.

Another important component in our suspension system is a full heavy duty steel strut spacer system for the front suspension. These lift components mount outside of the factory strut and so avoid stiffening the suspension or altering the handling. The exterior strut mount design doesn't pre-load your spring, so you get full smooth factory ride quality. And the Heavy Duty factory front strut shocks are not modified so the suspension works exactly as it did before the lift was installed.

As with all of our steel accessories for the 2011-2021 Grand Cherokee, the front and rear suspension lift components all come with a full lifetime guarantee!  

 

We often receive questions on tire sizing with any of our Jeep lifts...
The answer is.... there is no single answer. Wheel size and backspace can make as much or more of a difference as tire size. The design of the knuckle assembly makes it close quarters width-wise for oversize tire fitment. While our lift will create the vertical height you need, you will have to watch the width and backspacing carefully for tire clearance.

Wheel spacers can help with the fit of larger tires to this Jeep. Be careful, the WK2 uses a 14mm lug nut so JK Wrangler wheel spacers are not a direct fit (can be used with some changes). Rocky Road will have specific wheel spacers for this kit available this spring. Email us if you have any questions on this.

Pictured on the Jeep on this webpage, are tires of 275/55 R20 which measures about 32" in true OD. Not bad considering to put the same tire on an older model Jeep Cherokee, you would have to install a 6" lift kit! Tell that to those Jeep Cherokee guys if they ever hassle you out on the trail

We tested a variety of tire sizes and found that a 33" OD tire would fit with a little trimming in the felt fender liners (and 1" wheel spacers mandatory). Your tire center may be able to help with recommendations since tire manufacturers use different sizing formulas so the fit will always vary from one brand to the next. We HIGHLY recommend having your lift installed BEFORE you go shopping for tires.

2011+ Grand Cherokee lift kit

PLEASE NOTE: Only the non-Air suspension Jeeps may be lifted. This kit fits the coil spring model Grand Cherokees ONLY. Will not work on a Quadra-lift equipped Jeep.

The suspension lift system was capped at 2.5" so as to not exceed the factory tolerances which are built into this model Jeep as a result of the Airbag equipped suspensions. For those who purchased an airbag suspension for your Jeep, unfortunately you will never be able to install a permanent lift system to your Jeep. They can lift and lower by pushing the buttons, but will never be able to install larger tires since the suspension will always return to its original "stock height"

For you fortunate enough to have purchased the coil spring suspension though... Rocky Road's lift kit is the most powerful modification you can make to your Jeep. Factory spec alignment can be achieved with the installation of our suspension lift thanks to Jeeps foresight in the adjustment range of the front and rear alignment settings.

Also available are the Rocky Road front upper control arm kits. These suspension components are not essential for a proper installation of the lift kit, but certainly represent a substantial upgrade to the functionality and alignment to the stock pieces.
