The Rocky Road Adventure rack can service not only as a mounting system for important offroad accessories, but also for everyday use such as hauling lumber, plywood, or other oversized items too large for the interior cargo area.

The Rocky Road Discovery rack provides a great carrying system at the lowest of low profiles for excellent advantage to wind resistance and maximum fuel economy. All of our accessory mounts pop on and off in a minute so you can customize your rack however you want, by yourself, in a moment's notice to again maximize fuel economy and flexibility of use.
All other Safari style rack kits on the market sit 4-7" above your side rails which can create problems going into parking garages and other low clarance situations. Our entire rack kit sits flush with the side rails so you have no reduction in clearance at all with the Adventure rack kit!
The Rocky Road Adventure rack system also identifies a known weakness in the Land Rover's typical rack mounting kits, and that is the light-duty factory rails on the sides of your roof. At a glance, those rails may seem up to the task of loading and hauling cargo. But take a look at our photo to the right and you can see that this plastic and aluminum rail is not only prone to failure, when it goes... it can smash in your roof and damage the vehicle as well. To serious offroad and Overland enthusiasts, this is simple NOT ACCEPTABLE!
Take a look at the picture to the right for proof. It happened to us, it can happen to you! You can either hope it doesn't happen on a trip when reliability and cargo carrying is a necessity... or you can be smart and fix your rack setup BEFORE it becomes a problem!

Our rack systems use a new steel roof rail whichin itself has no weight limitations on cargo capacity. The only limitation then becomes how much you want to load on your roof (let common sense prevail, we recommend). The rails themselves though can hold thousands of lbs which means the entire rack system also shares the same incredible strength rating. You cannot and will not ever bend or dent our rack or rail system, guaranteed.
This incredibly strong Safari grade rack system requires, and mounts to the Rocky Road roof rails very easily. All bolton, no cutting, drilling, or other modification needed. Mounts tight and secure for the most rugged on and offroad use. Perfect for the ultimate world safari expedition, or for just traveling around town.
While we were at the business of designing the best on the planet for your Jeep, we added some additional optional features as well.
You can pack along extra items such as an axe, shovel, axe and shovel, or anything else with a similar handle using our accessory mount.
The HiLift jack mount gives you a nice secure place to store this essential offroad tool. We use an official HiLift jack mount kit which allows you to lock your jack into place if you wish. Holds jacks up to 60" if you wish.
Our forward light mount gives you a great place to mount auxiliary offroad lights such as the top-rated IPF series lights we carry from ARB products. Our mounting kit puts lights up high to get rid of that hood glare you often get from lower mounted overhead lights. Flip them underside as in our photo, or topside on the mount. Our light bars come with 3 or 4 light positions. You can use the center mount for other items such as a CB antenna. Can also be mounted on the rear of the rack as well.
Fuel or water carriers are a great item to have along for a weekend adventure, or your dream road trip. Our racks allow an assortment of fuel or water cans to be used which can be purchased from many auto parts stores, outdoor stores, or direct from Rocky Road. The single can carrier kit holds 2 containers.
Even loaded with fuel and water carriers, the center section of the rack remains open for carrying a cooler, storage box, or other Overlanding necessities (not pictured).
The Land Rover Discovery roof rack and rail system is built around a super sturdy 1.25" tube frame. All components easily bolt into place. Anyone in possession of a wrench can mount this kit up once the rails are in place. All components come in a very durable black powdercoat finish and look excellent next to the factory roof rails. The whole system is UPSable to anywhere in the world.
Yakima's round bar accessories (and perhaps other brands) will fit to our Crossbar kit and our Adventure rack kit. So the possibilities for hauling cargo and toys is nearly limitless with our system.
Pictured at right, the Heavy Duty Roof Rail kit replaces the weak stock rails.

Please note: Installation of the Roof Rails requires removal of the head-liner inside the vehicle. For some, this is no problem as a do-it-yourself project, others may find it more than they want to tackle. Any mechanic or even the Land Rover dealership can complete this upgrade on the roof rails for you.
