Everyone thinks their kit is "the best". What we believe puts Rocky Road Sliders above the rest is our triangulated mounting system, and how tight and high up our sliders sit.
Triangulated mounting means the mounts are not just attached to the frame, but the frame and the body. By using the pinchy seam on most of our slider designs, we give MUCH MORE mounting strength than any other kit possibly can only attached to the frame. They can use all the fancy frame wraps and gussets they want, but NOTHING BEATS TRIANGULATION! And no 'chat room' expert can deny this engineering fact. Our kits address the miniscule amount of frame/body flex as well, so this is NOT an issue with Rocky Road slider kits.
Many kits also use mounting bolts and brackets which hang BELOW the frame REDUCING clearance. Rock Rock kits do NOT reduce clearance even a fraction of an inch. Their mounts look fancy in photos, but on the trail, those other kits reduce clearance!! WTH??! The pictures of those other brand kits look slick... from the bottom, or weird angles that don't show the height of the kit. Their mount system requires them to push their slider bar INCHES LOWER than our slider bars. Rocky Road Rock Sliders simply tuck tighter and look better once installed. . .
Other rock sliders use box steel tube, which has a blocky 'High-School metal shop' look to it once you see them in person.
Other shop's photos are deceiving in this regard.
Our Rock Sliders have a very sleek rounded look about them as we use genuine inner hitch steel in their construction. Hitch steel is not only very strong, it also has a nice radius corner instead of a hard boxy look. Inner hitch steel is the stuff you use to plug into 2" receiver hitches. Its sheer weight is astronomical as is its bending strength. Our shop press goes to 100 tons and we can't even start to bend them. Do you think a scrawny little rock can hurt these things? Think again!
Picture shows our new Kicker Rock Slider.
Notice the extra side protection, the bars stand out enough to assist with loading and unloading racks and use as a nice step. Full Cover Kicker pictured with diamond plate included.

Notice the top picture at right is a Rocky Road Rock Slider kit. See the beveled edge? The nice 45* ramp which would slide up and over any rock or stump on the trail? Its takes more time and effort to manufacture the kits this way, but that's all included with the Rocky Road kits.
Now take a look at the lower picture at right. This is from a competitor. Similar pricing for the rocker kits, but they cut their production costs by making the end a blunt square. Run that thing into a rock and you can clearly see the trouble you will face. Its a battering ram, not a rock slider. It could stop your vehicle cold or require you to bash away until something gives. Why would they build their kits with this engineering defect? Simple... its cheaper to manufacture with the flat end, so that's what they go with.
Also notice how much further down their kit hangs. Rocky Road kits tuck up tight!
This is one easily observed engineering advantage the Rocky Road kit offers... but there are many more.
Why hitch steel? Why not go with a lesser gauge steel to save production costs? Because we wouldn't trust anything less to protect our 4WD's and neither should you! Besides, since these carry the Rocky Road **lifetime guarantee**, we don't want to have to replace them for you for free every couple years or so. We made them indestructible so they'll last forever and they are guaranteed forever, NEVER to bend on you!
Our rockrails are very simple to install and are completely 'bolt on'. We use existing mounting holes whenever possible to minimize drilling on the vehicle. However, we don't sacrifice mounting strength so save a couple holes though.
Rocky Road Tacoma rock sliders are very simple to install and are completely 'bolt on'... no cutting, and NO WELDING!! Welding no your frame is a HUGE MISTAKE! Don't do this. Don't damage your truck frame. Use bolton kits from Rocky Road.
A view of the Rock Sliders on Marty Jemison's FJ (Marty is the forner USA ProCycling Champion and has raced all over the world and in the Tour De France several times... bad-ass! Excellent factory look, but strength far superior to anything else out there.

You'll find our Rockrails very attractive and will blend in nicely with your stock flares and moldings. Rock Slider kits will run fender to fender and many folks have commented on their very OEM (factory) look. We tuck them very tight to the body to minimize the possibility of getting hung up.
All kits come in a sturdy, durable, and very attractive black powdercoat electrostatic and baked powdercoat finish.
Our FJ Cruiser Rock Sliders have been installed and reviewed always with the highest marks by offroad magazines, websites, chat forums, etc. Our FJ Cruiser Rock Sliders are the strongest, thickest, and most protective bars on the market, with best mounting system, and are guaranteed NEVER to bend.
Bottom line??? If you see someone in an FJ with some rocker bars that are not by Rocky Road, you're looking at someone who paid too much, for too little. If you want the very best, you have found it!

These rocker bars offer all the strength and warranty of our regular Rockrails, but with the added bonus of an additional upper tube. This upper tube can provide even more protection against sliding into rocks, trees, or other trail hazards. Everyone who has seen these on our shop 4x4s has wanted a pair. They are unequaled in strength and looks.
The kits also make an excellent step for access to roof racks and such, and kicker kits come with the Diamond Plate as shown.
Each Super Slider kit mounts identical to the standard Rockrail for the vehicle. It also still features that great looking 45* front and rear edge. Not only good for looks, but alot more practical for trail use than our competition's squared off ends.
This is basically the same proven design as our world famous Rockrails, only with the extra slider tube up top.
The extra slider tube up top offers additional side protection on the trail and off the trail. One of our favorite uses of the Superslider is as a bash guard against other swinging doors in a parking. Imagine the dismay of the chump who just threw open his car door only to whack it on the solid steel of your Superslider. He just stuck a nice dent in the edge of his door, your Toy still looks cherry!
Nothing protects like the Rocky Road Supersliders, and Kicker Sliders.

NOTE: Our Superslider kits angle upward off the main slider bar for superior clearance on the trail... see pictures above.
Our FLAT-OUT Superslider kits provide a flat Superslider option, for those who want a wider flat step off the vehicle (same position as our Kicker Slider kits).
