Shopping for rock sliders???
Question 1... do you want cheap sliders which are for show, or ones that will last, and protect? Yes!
Question 2... do you want blunt ends on your sliders? So that they ram onto rocks instead of sliding over them? Slide....
Question 3... do you want to be able to use a HiLift on your sliders? Yes!
Question 4... do you want your rock sliders to look like a high school shop project, or a factory grade finished work of art? Of course yes!
These are basic questions in shopping for rock sliders.
The BEST kit, the BEST protection for your Durango, is not the cheapest.
Yes, you can find cheaper and more poorly designed rocker panels kits than Rocky Road, but RRO kits are the best built in our industry, lifetime guarantee, ramped ends instead of 'ramming' ends, strong enough to easily handle a Hilift jack (whereas most others will not), triangulated mounting systems, easy bolton, powdercoat finish, available in several different styles and levels of side impact protection.
Rocky Road Rockrails are the creme' de la creme' of the Rock slider phenomenon.
We use 3/16" inner hitch steel to make sure your bars do NOT bend! Anything else is just plain flimsy.
Any other rocker protection kit for the Durango will be made from thin 1/8" wall material and a good number of the Rockrails we sell
are to folks who have bought these thinner bars and have bent them up
Why hitch steel?
Why not go with a lesser gauge steel to save production costs?
Because we wouldn't trust anything less to protect our vehicles and neither should you! Besides, since these carry the Rocky Road *lifetime guarantee*, we don't want to have to replace them for you for free every couple years or so.
We made them indestructible so they'll last forever and they are guaranteed forever, NEVER to bend or dent on you!Our rock sliders are very simple to install and are completely 'bolt on'. They mount on the sub-frame as well as along the body seam. Not mounting along the entire seam causes extreme stress with the leverage of an impact on the outer rocker itself. Our design distributes the load across a broad area instead of focusing it on small spots. Installation is made easier by marking strips which we include with every set. Instead of trying to juggle a 35lb rocker bar in place while you mark your holes, you simply clamp our thin steel marker strip onto the body seam and mark your mounting holes.

You'll find the Rockrails very attractive and will blend in nicely with your stock flares and moldings.
They run fender to fender and many folks have commented on their very OEM (factory) look.
They tuck tighter to the body than any other rocker on the market as well.
In a nutshell, Rockrails are the strongest and thickest bars on the market, best mounting system, and are guaranteed NEVER to bend.
Why wouldn't you get a set?
Some folks ask if they can handle a HiLift jack.
HA! If a rock slider cannot handle a gentle upward push from a HiLift, how is it supposed to block an assault by a full body slam on a rock???
Our Rockrails can handle anything and everything you can throw at them and are guaranteed for life against denting or bending.
Superslider kits contain that same main rock slider bar, but also provide additional outer bars welded for more side protection, both offroad and in parking lots! This kit is much mroe popular than our Rock Slider kits as people really like the looks. The Superslider bar can be used as a step access as well.
Finally, our Kicker Rock Sliders round out the lne-up. They also feature the same main slider bar, but with additional side tubing welded on and in the Superslider, AND a flaring section int he rear with a diamond plate cover on that flared out section. This flared out section makes for an excellent step ito the rear of the vehicle.
Our Full Cover Kicker rock slider is the same kit, but with diamond plate front to rear as shown in the photos above. This is the ideal kit for those who want a full step platform front to rear along with true rock slider protection. This is the top kit on the market and everyone who sees them just Ooooo's and Aaaaah's.
The extra slider tube up top on our Superslider and Kicker kits offer additional side protection on the trail, AND off the trail. One of our favorite uses of the Superslider is as a bash guard against other swinging doors in a parking. Imagine the dismay of the chump who just threw open his car door only to whack it on the solid steel of your Superslider. He just stuck a nice dent in the edge of his door, your Durango still looks cherry!

Pictured at left is an example of an engineering detail of the Rocky Road Rockrail kits over other rocker guard kits on the market.
This just helps demonstrates one of the many superior engineering points in our system.
Notice the top picture at left is a Rocky Road rock slider kit. See the beveled edge?
The nice 45* ramp which would slide up and over any rock or stump on the trail?
Its takes more time, effort, and expense to manufacture the kits this way, but that's all included with the Rocky Road kits.
Now take a look at the lower picture at left.
This is from a competitor. Similar pricing for the rocker kits, but they cut their production costs by making the end a blunt square.
Run that thing into a rock and you can clearly see the trouble you will face.
Its a battering ram, not a rock slider. It could stop your vehicle cold or require you to bash away until something gives.
Why would they build their kits with this engineering defect?
Simple... its cheaper to manufacture with the flat end, so that's what they go with.
Also notice how much further down their kit hangs.
Rocky Road kits tuck up tight!
This is but two easily observed engineering advantages the Rocky Road kit offers... but there are many more.
