"If only the Titanic had these on."
Bart Jacobs, is one of many ARCA/UROC competitors who use and abuse our Rockrails
The only rocker bar capable of withstanding this type of world class abuse!
Shopping for rock sliders???
Question 1... do you want cheap sliders which are for show, or ones that will last, and protect? Yes!
Question 2... do you want blunt ends on your sliders? So that they ram onto rocks instead of sliding over them? Slide....
Question 3... do you want to be able to use a HiLift on your sliders? Yes!
Question 4... do you want your rock sliders to look like a high school shop project, or a factory grade finished work of art? Of course yes!
Question 5... and for the love of God... Do you really want to WELD rock sliders to your vehicle? NO!!!!
These are the most basic questions in shopping for rock sliders.
The BEST kit, the BEST protection for your Jeep, is not the cheapest.
Yes, you can find cheaper and more poorly designed sliders than Rocky Road, but RRO kits are the best built in our industry, lifetime guarantee, ramped ends instead of 'ramming' ends, strong enough to easily handle a Hilift jack (whereas most others will not), triangulated mounting systems, easy bolton, powdercoat finish, available in several different styles and levels of side impact protection.
We use 3/16" inner hitch steel to make sure your bars do NOT bend! Anything else is just plain flimsy. Most other rocker bars are made from thin 1/8" wall material and a good number of the Rockrails we sell are to those who have bought these thinner bars and have bent them up. Even slick looking dual tube designs that appear to offer better protection are still only made from 1/8" steel and will bend on a hard impact.Rocky Road Jeep Cherokee and Comanche rock sliders are built from hitch steel which has a bend-rating so far off the chart, we never ever have to worry about anyone collecting on our lifetime guarantee against bending and denting. They're too strong, it can't happen, can't be done.
An integrated mounting system. By far, the best on the market! Well used Rockrails mounted on Bart Jacob's XJ.
Bart's is one of only 2 Cherokees to ever compete in the ARCA/UROC Rockcrawling Championships!
They BOTH trust only Rocky Road Rockrails to protect their Cherokees!
Once again, a 4x4 magazine with a project Cherokee went searching for the best rock sliders on the planet. Last time it was 4wheel & Offroad magazine. This time it was 4WD & Sport Utility Magazine. Who did they determine as having the top rocker guards on the planet? Who did they order from? You got it... Rocky Road. Check the Dec 2010 issue of 4WD & Sport Utility for the installation article and just take the expert's word on it... you've now found THE BEST!
The Rocky Road XJ and MJ Rock Sliders have a very sleek rounded look about them since we do use that genuine inner hitch steel in their construction. Hitch steel is not only very strong, it also has a nice radius corner instead of a hard boxy look. Inner hitch steel is the stuff you use to plug into 2" receiver hitches. Its sheer weight is astronomical as is its bending strength. Our shop press only goes to 40 tons and we can't even start to bend them. Do you think a scrawny little rock can hurt these things? Think again!
Rockrails in action on Randy Harris' XJ (editor for 'Cherokee America').
Randy wouldn't trust any other rocker to his Jeep, why should you???
Why hitch steel? Why not go with a lesser gauge steel to save production costs? Because we wouldn't trust anything less to protect our Jeep and neither should you! Besides, since these carry the Rocky Road **lifetime guarantee**, we don't want to have to replace them for you for free every couple years or so. We made them indestructible so they'll last forever and they are guaranteed forever, NEVER to bend on you!
Our XJ rock sliders are very simple to install and are completely 'bolt on'. They mount on the sub-frame as well as along the body seam. Not mounting along the entire seam causes extreme stress with the leverage of an impact on the outer rocker itself. Our design distributes the load across a broad area instead of focusing it on small spots. Installation is made easier by marking strips which we include with every set. Instead of trying to juggle a 35lb rocker bar in place while you mark your holes, you simply clamp our thin steel marker strip onto the body seam and mark your mounting holes.

They can chose any rocker protection out there... they hunted us down and chose ours!
Even folks in the industry recognize Rocky Road Rockrails as the best protection on the market.
You'll find our XJ Rock sliders are very attractive and will blend in nicely with your stock flares and moldings. They run fender to fender and many folks have commented on their very OEM (factory) look. They tuck tighter to the body than any other rocker on the market as well. In a nutshell, our XJ Rock sliders are the strongest and thickest bars on the market, best mounting system, and are guaranteed NEVER to bend. Why wouldn't you get a set?
Available for the Comanche as well. Same indestrucible design as our Cherokee bars. Same easy mounting. These Rockrails are designed with a longer slider bar and shaped specific to your frame and truck bar layout. Specifically built for your shortbox Comanche. View a shot of our project Comanche down below to the right (and be sure and check out our 5" and 6" Comanche lifts now available on our suspension page).
Once again... Don't take only our word for it. Beyond all the print magazines determining Rocky Road rock sliders are the best, check out the Rockrail review at the Cherokee America website for pics on the install and overall impressions on their looks and durability. The only question to ask is whether you want the best... or if you want to spend just as much (or even more) buying something LESS than the best by shopping elsewhere.

These rocker bars offer all the strength and warranty of our regular Rockrails, but with the added bonus of an additional upper tube. This upper tube can provide even more protection against sliding into rocks, trees, or other trail hazards.
Kicker Rock Slider kit with Diamond Plate rear.
Unbeatable protection and an excellent step for roof rack access.

Everyone who has seen these on our shop 4x4s has wanted a pair. They are unequaled in strength and looks. They also make an excellent step for access to roof racks and such and the rear portion of our Kicker Sliders features a diamond plate cover.
Each Super Slider kit mounts identical to the standard Rockrail for the vehicle. It also still features that great looking 45* front and rear edge. Not only good for looks, but alot more practical for trail use than our competition's squared off ends.
This is basically the same proven design as our world famous Rockrails, only with the extra slider tube up top.
The extra slider tube up top offers additional side protection on the trail and off the trail. One of our favorite uses of the Superslider is as a bash guard against other swinging doors in a parking. Imagine the dismay of the chump who just threw open his car door only to whack it on the solid steel of your Superslider. He just stuck a nice dent in the edge of his door, your toy still looks cherry!
The world has discovered that Rocky Road parts are the absolute best on the planet. As a result of the somewhat overwhelming demand at this time for our kits, there can sometimes be a few weeks turnaround time. Please bear with us and understand sometimes the best things in life take just a little longer

Notice the top picture at right is a Rocky Road XJ rock slider kit. See the beveled edge? The nice 45* ramp which would slide up and over any rock or stump on the trail? Its takes more time and effort to manufacture the kits this way, but that's all included with the Rocky Road kits.
Now take a look at the lower picture at left. This is from a competitor. Same pricing for the rocker kits, but they cut their production costs by making the end a blunt square. Run that thing into a rock and you can clearly see the trouble you will face. Its a battering ram, not a rock slider. It could stop your vehicle cold or require you to bash away until something gives. Why would they build their kits with this engineering defect? Simple... its cheaper to manufacture with the flat end, so that's what they go with.
Also notice how much further down their kit hangs. Rocky Road kits tuck up tight!
This are a couple easily observed engineering advantages the Rocky Road kits offer... but there are many more.
