Our newest design gives you the strongest mounting system of any on the market for the 80 series, 100% boltson. Our kits will work for both the Toyota AND Lexus catalytic convertors and offer a full skidplate for each... unlike our competition which leave these expensive, fragile, and important pieces exposed and unprotected. We also now have kits for vehicles with no catalytic convertor outside of the frame, and therefore no skidplate needed. Our updates design features a simple frame wrap mounting system which is incredibly strong, and incredibly fast and easy to install.

We feel it is important to stress that you should NEVER weld rock sliders to your frame.
Those cheap kits may seem appealing, because they are cheap, but we have seen multiple vehicles with torn and damaged frames from welded rock sliders.
This is a huge mistake for both strength and safety, in addition to never ever being able to take those kits off for easy service needs. Please NEVER weld rock sliders to your frame!!
Rocky Road 80 Series Rock Sliders are the very best in the rocker protection world for the Toyota 80 series Landcruiser, and the Lexus LX450. We use 3/16" inner hitch steel to make sure your bars do NOT bend!
Anything other than hitch steel is just plain flimsy. Most other rocker bars are made from thin wall tube material.
Alot of shops still refer to these as "Rock Sliders"... but they are not.
Rocky Road kits are strong enough to be able to pick up the vehicle with a Hilift, or forklift as shown in our photos.
A good number of the 80 Series Rock Sliders we sell are to those who have actually bought thinner, weaker bar kits, and have bent them up. Even slick looking dual round tube designs that appear to offer better protection are still only made from 1/8" steel and will bend on a hard impact. Not our 80 Series Road sliders.
Our shop press goes to 100 tons and we can't even start to bend them.

Why hitch steel?
Why not go with a lesser gauge steel to save production costs?
Because we wouldn't trust anything less to protect our 4WD's and neither should you!

Kits also feature our Super Slider design which is the second outer slider tube for extra protection from the side AND a great step for accessing roof racks and such. This tubing is made from 100% DOM and is strong beyond belief.
Our 80 Series Rock Sliders have a very sleek rounded look about them as we use genuine inner hitch steel in their construction. Hitch steel is not only very strong, it also has a nice radius corner instead of a hard boxy look. Inner hitch steel is the stuff you use to plug into 2" receiver hitches. We've seen the competitor's sliders at $7-800 with squared ends on the rock sliders. Alot cheaper to make them this way, but ugly and they don't slide too well. You just bought $800 battering rams if they hit a rock on the forward edge. The engineering in our kits provides a beveled lead and trailing edge not only for great looks, but also for better trail service.
You'll find our 80 Series Rock Sliders very attractive and will blend in nicely with your stock flares, mudflaps, and moldings. We tuck them very tight to the body to minimize the possibility of getting hung up.

Same great mounting strength and overall design as our Superslider kits, but with that extra rear kick-out section in back. For years these have been hugely popular with the Toyota guys, and now Rocky Road is finally bringing them to Cruiser people!

These kits offer superior protection, amazing good looks, and as you can see in the photo at left, the rear Kicker portion also features a Diamond Plate cover for a really cool look and the kit also provides excellent access for roof racks, as well as for use as a step into your Landcruiser.

Please note: If you are using a control arm drop kit in the front you might have to modify them or the mounting plates on our sliders for them to be compatible. If you are using a caster correction kit you will not have any problems.

Pictured at right is an example of an engineering detail of the Rocky Road Toyota Rockrail kits over others on the market. This just helps demonstrates one of the many superior engineering points in our system.
Notice the top picture at right is a Rocky Road rock slider kit. See the beveled edge? The nice 45* ramp which would slide up and over any rock or stump on the trail? Its takes more time and effort to manufacture the kits this way, but that's all included with the Rocky Road kits.
Now take a look at the lower picture at right. This is from a competitor. We have lower prices, they they still cut their production costs by making the end a blunt square. Run that thing into a rock and you can clearly see the trouble you will face. Its a battering ram, not a rock slider. It could stop your vehicle cold or require you to bash away until something gives. Why would they build their kits with this engineering defect? Simple... its cheaper to manufacture with the flat end, so that's what they go with.
Also notice how much further down their kit hangs. Rocky Road kits tuck up tight!
