Weld-in Sport Cage.
This very flexible Sport Cage system allows you to choose and design your own bar system to fit your needs. This very well could be the single most important modification you ever make to your Samurai. We've only had to "use" our Sport cage once, but it saved us. Dropping into a gully in Arizona, we stuck it on the nose and the tail end just went up and over. Knowing we were going to be safe because we had a cage kit.... Priceless.
Thinking of a bolton style cage? STOP! The question would then be do you want easy installation, or do you want something that will really work when things goes wrong. Bolton cages look pretty and sound nifty, but the bottom line is they are dangerous if you think they'll do anything to offer protection. Try and take a bolton cage to any competition or event that requires roll protection and you'll not only not pass the safety inspection... you'll get laughed out of the joint. Safety would be their primary concern, and so should it be yours!
Our cages offer the best, closest fit you can get! The full cage replaces the factory thin-wall main hoop and wimpy supports with a full .120" competition-spec thickness bar. By fitting the cage close, body damage may be reduced in the event of an "incident". Front kits come with a front hoop with over the dash bar alreadywelded in, pre-notched hoop connector bars, main hoop, full diagonal braces,gussets, shoulder belt tabs, hardware, and instructions. Kits are built from Mandrel-bent 1.5" ERW tubing specifically for the Samurai.
You can run them with any hardtop, softop, or any configuration of Samurai. We love to run with the targa bars off in the Summer as pictured. Don't throw your money away on bolton kits. Do it right the first time, protect yourself and your passengers, and pick up one of our weldon cages. While no one ever expects to roll, this could be the most important purchase you ever make on your Samurai.
Sport Cage:
Components for the front cage, plus new main hoop, mounting plates, shoulder tabs, and rear down bars to the tailgate as highlighted to the left. 6-point mounting system.
Kits available for softop or internal hardtop installation.
Front Cage kit
This kit includes the front main bar over dash, mounting plates, and connecting bars to the factory main tube bar. The connectors will weld to the factory tube. This is a good add-on system for those on a tight budget that still want some additional protection.
Works for either softop or hardtop Samurais.
Rear cage kit
This setup adds onto our Sport Cage to give you a full overhead system. Provides protection for rear occupants. We've also used it to help strap extra gear to the roof on long offroad trips.
Kits contains the rear main hoop and two connector bars as highlighted to the left.
Please note, our kits do come with some options...
Additional Pre-notched bars
from front hoop to main hoop. As pictured to the right on our Zukinni Samurai (yes, its a grainy shot), these additional bars give some center support to the main protective hoops. Its hard to tell from the photo, but we also have our CB radio mounted between the middle bars. They're just a great way to help beef up your roll protection.

Diagonal support
This support is a great way to beef up the strength of your main hoop. You will see it in many competition style cages.
Does make it tough for passenger's to get into the back seat from the front compartment, so keep that in mind.
Gussets
These are actually required in most rockcrawling competitions and a good idea besides. Very inexpensive and just another way to protect yourself and your occupants.
