Jeep Liberty Upper Control arm kits.

Liberty Control ARMS ®

Jeep Liberty control arms serve the purpose of helping to achieve proper alignment specifications and strut position when a Jeep Liberty is lifted. The problem is that the stock arms can wear out.

Some who have had a lifted Liberty for awhile and plays hard has likely had to change out their upper control arms. Its also not uncommon for the stock control arms to contact the spring and make a noise during suspension movement.

In the past, your only options were to buy stock A-arms and maybe repeat the pattern of old and new thru the years, OR pay almost $400 for a set of new aftermarket control arms. Both options hold little appeal for most Jeepers and many found problems with the $400 kits breaking and no warranty being offered... not good.

We have received many emails and calls over the last few years from Liberty owners requesting us to engineer a solution for those wanting/needing new upper control arms at a fair price. We locked our engineer away in a room (well, not literally) with a stock control arm and a lifted Liberty so he could see nothing already on the market and engineer a truly unique Rocky Road upper control arm kit. The result??? Our new INSANE ARMS® ...

These great kits fix all alignment, ball joint, and spring clearance issues! While our ball joints have an insane amount of movement range (hence the name of the new control arms), the design of our control arms puts the ball joint in a neutral position while Jeep is lifted. This eliminates the possibility of the ball joint binding up and gurantees a longer life. Our engineering also allows for easier and more accurate camber alignment by your local alignment

While our pricing might just make our competition cry... they don't know the half of it. Not only do our control arms carry a lower price tag, we've also engineered some additional upgrades not so easily seen.

Instead of rubber bushings which are a press fit (which makes them nearly impossible to replace), will crack and dry out with age, and can be challenging to service, we use a heavy duty grease impregnated polyurethane bushing system. The bushings are easily serviced and very easy to change out should the need ever arise.

Greasable fittings at the bushings for easy service, bushing longevity, and squeak-free long term usage. You won't see this feature on any other Liberty control arm on the market.

Our ball joints are the same as those you find in such heavy vehicles as the Cadillac Escalade, and so are more than strong enough for use on the Jeep Liberty. The radial static load rating on our ball joints is also thousands of lbs stronger than the standard Liberty, for a more durable design. The MOOG joints in our kits can also be found around the world in most auto parts stores, and so are an easy exchange when/if the need should ever arise for a replacement.

Bootie. Yes, we give you free (extra) bootie. Since the heavy duty ball joints we use are larger than stock Jeep, they are also longer. We now provide a special tie rod boot to work as a shim and spacer to the tie rod's existing boot to ensure a good seal and no boot slippage (pictured at right).

Unique to our new control arm system is also a simple bolton bumpstop extension. These are a great simple little add-on for those that really do play hard with their Jeeps offroad. You can view this nice optional item in the picture at left along with the grease fitting on the bushing.

PLEASE NOTE: Anyone who has had alignment problems with these arms is because they have mounted the ball joint to the bottom of the control arm. Look close at the picture to the left (or top left on this webpage) for correct orientation of the ball joint coming in thru the top to alleviate any installation or alignment issues! The bumpstop mount is on top of the ball joint which is on top of the control arm...

INSANE ARMS® have a lifetime guarantee never to bend or dent. If they do, send it back and we will replace the arm for you. As a result of the extremely heavy duty .25 wall DOM tubing we use on our arms though, this will never happen, ever. Stronger control arms, you will not find. The mounting plate for the ball joints is equally overkill. You cannot harm these control arms. The ball joints themselves are very easily changed out should the need ever arise for servicing.

Our new A-arm kit does come with the Extreme Duty ball joints and dust boot, bushings, grease fittings, and hardware. All are powdercoated in a durable tasteful semi-gloss black. The Rocky Road deluxe INSANE ARMS® kits offer the very best components on the planet. The Rocky Road control arms are for the Jeeper that wants only the best with the highest standards for quality and performance.

We have kits for both the KJ Liberty... 2002-2007, and for the KK Liberty which is 2008 and newer. Please note that these kits can only be used on Jeeps with lifts 2.125" and taller. For stock or shorter lifts, you will need to stick with stock replacement control arms which we do also carry. Back out to our main suspension page to find the link for those arms.

If you have any questions on our system, please feel free to email at the link below.
