The Tank-Trap
So there I was....
Four Wheeler magazine's Top Truck Challenge of 1997. The tank trap is the final and most difficult event of any Top Truck Challenge.
Notice my copilot and see how much fun he's having compared to me :^)
Actually, we both did have a blast. The highwater mark is visible on the hood of my vehicle. Water was everywhere and was DEEP. Thank god for the snorkel!
How did it end? We came in 4th place in
the Tank Trap being about 4" shy of the LandCruiser when our time ran
out. This despite losing a tire completely off both bead in the first water
hole and problems with our winch (both batteries went dead). Even after
time ran out we were still able to drive out on our own power. The Tank
Trap, definetely an extreme experience!
